Hack of the Week

Freshen up your dishwasher with these two easy tricks!

If you're one of the lucky few that have a dishwasher at your cottage then make sure it stays smelling fresh and working great with these two easy cleaning hacks!

First thing you're going to want to do is make sure the dishwasher is empty. Don't leave any dishes or cutlery inside.

Next, get a dishwasher safe dish and fill it with white vinegar and place it on the top rack. Run the dishwasher on a "hot rinse cycle" and let it finish.

Once the first rinse is done, sprinkle baking soda all over the bottom of the dishwasher, under the lower tray. Run the dishwasher through another "hot rince cycle" and voila! An amazingly fresh great working dishwasher!

It's a good idea to clean your dishwasher about once a month at least. Over time grease, soap scum and food debris build-up in dishwashers. Not only does this provide a breeding ground for germs, but it also reduces the efficiency of the appliance so cleaning it will ensure that it is working at flawlessly.
